Job summary

North Mississippi State Hospital in Tupelo, MS is seeking a Support Care Professional III responsible for taking vital signs, assisting with care plans, observing and reporting patient conditions, and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation and transfers.

This third-level position may mentor lower-level staff, communicates with doctors, patients and families, educates patients, and may provide transport to offsite appointments or apply restraints when necessary.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience.
• May require a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) designation.

About NMSH:

North Mississippi State Hospital (NMSH) is an acute care psychiatric facility offering treatment and services for mentally ill adult men and women in northeast Mississippi. The 50-bed hospital was opened in Tupelo in 1999. NMSH is a facility of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.

About the position:

This position is located at North Mississippi State Hospital in Tupelo, Mississippi. It is Third-level Support Care position accountable for taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities, observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors, and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. May mentor or direct the work of lower-level employees. Communicates with doctors, patients, and families, and educates patients on care. May provide transport to offsite appointments and application of restraints when necessary.
