Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a Support Care Assistant in Nevada, MO to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living and community activities. Base pay starts at $17.20 per hour with a $2.00 per hour premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Overtime is available at time-and-a-half, up to $28.80 per hour on 2nd/3rd shifts. Responsibilities include transporting individuals to appointments, administering medications and taking vitals, helping with hygiene and daily tasks, and recording

Qualifications

  • No experience required; training provided.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Transport individuals to appointments and activities in state vehicles.
  • Administer medications and take vitals.
  • Assist individuals with daily living and hygiene tasks such as feeding, bathing, shaving, dressing and other related tasks.
  • Observe, report and record changes in the physical condition, behavior response and emotional status of individuals.
  • Participate in activities with the individuals such as swimming, shopping, ball games, picnics, going to the movies and other activities.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Work overtime as needed to retain adequate staffing.
  • Requires heavy lifting and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Support Care Assistant

Base pay is $17.20 per hour with an additional $2.00 per hour (making it $19.20 per hour) for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Overtime hours are available at the rate of time and one half, paying $25.80 (1st shift) - $28.80 (2nd and 3rd shifts) per hour.

This position will be located at 2041 E. Hunter Street, Nevada, MO 64772

What You’ll Do

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work with individuals with physical or mental illness, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities and/or the geriatric populations.
  • Ability to learn first aid, emergency treatments and behavioral interventions and techniques, as trained.
  • Ability to successfully pass Level One Medication Aide certification.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records, charts and reports.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
