Job summary

UMMC in Jackson's Main Campus is seeking a Supply Technician for the Main Operating Room. You will handle daily hospital supply chain tasks including distribution, replenishment, receiving, delivery, and warehouse inventory to support OR operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or GED) and up to five years of related experience. Proficiency with MS Office, spreadsheets, and inventory software is valued.

• Five years of work experience may substitute for the education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Auditing and management of replenishment system and resolution of issues
• Operates replenishment system software per policy and procedures
• Sets up area with scales, controllers, downloaders, probes, shelf registration, mobile cart and computers
• Monitors and reports expired stock and improper stock rotation; ensures DNV compliance for stock storage
• Stocks, maintains and controls inventory of supplies for assigned areas per policy
• Orders required supplies for assigned areas per policy
• Opens, picks, closes and distributes internal orders per policy
• Adheres to hospital standards relative to OSHA and departmental policies
• Creates and submits daily system tracking report for all changes
• Fleet responsibilities and scheduling

Carries out daily operational activities associated with hospital supply chain including: Supply distribution and replenishment, receiving and delivery, mail services and post office, warehouse inventory, and the coordinated supply support system.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma/GED or successful completion of the UMMC Project Search program. Five years of successful work experience may be substituted for educational requirement.

• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, stocking, and equipment and inventory management methods and procedures.
