Job description

Position Summary

The Supply Technician performs technical supply management functions supporting the receipt, storage, accountability, issue, return, and disposition of tools, parts, equipment, and related materials. The position maintains accurate inventory and property records, supports tool control and parts availability, and performs supply actions in accordance with established government, customer, and company procedures. Work involves standardized supply processes as well as individual inventory, cataloging, storage, or property-accountability issues requiring research, data collection, and application of established guidelines.

Experience Requirements
  • Must have a good working knowledge of supply, inventory, storage, cataloging, property accountability, and material-control practices.
  • Must be able to identify and track tools and parts by applicable nomenclature, part number, stock number, serial number, or other identifying data; maintain accurate electronic and/or manual records; reconcile discrepancies; and take or recommend corrective action.
  • Must understand the operational needs of the organization supported and be able to prioritize supply actions to meet maintenance and production schedules.
  • Familiarity with tool-control programs, calibrated-tool status, shelf-life controls, hazardous-material handling requirements, and government or contractor property procedures is preferred where applicable to the assigned work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, identification, storage, issue, return, and accountability of tools, parts, consumables, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, tool-control, and property records in applicable electronic and manual systems.
  • Operate and maintain tool crib, parts room, warehouse, or other assigned supply-storage areas in an orderly, secure, and audit-ready condition.
  • Research part numbers, stock numbers, nomenclature, quantities, locations, and transaction history to support supply and maintenance requirements.
  • Perform inventories, cycle counts, reconciliations, and location surveys; investigate shortages, overages, damaged items, and record discrepancies.
  • Control the issue and return of tools, including serialized, special, and calibrated tools; identify overdue, damaged, or out-of-calibration items and initiate required action.
  • Monitor parts and materials for shelf-life, serviceability, preservation, packaging, labeling, and storage requirements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, purchasing, logistics, property, and supervisory personnel to support timely availability of tools and parts.
  • Process turn‑ins, transfers, excess items, repairable assets, and disposition actions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow all company, customer, safety, security, FOD-prevention, and property-control requirements applicable to the work area.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in supply, logistics, inventory control, tool-room operations, parts management, warehouse operations, or a related field.
  • Experience using inventory, supply, maintenance, or property-accountability systems and standard office software.
  • Ability to read and interpret part numbers, stock numbers, technical data, supply documents, and established procedures.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, when required for assigned duties.
  • Strong organizational, communication, customer-service, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet the necessary security and installation-access requirements for assigned systems and facilities.

  • Inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization.
  • Tool and parts accountability, issue/return control, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Analytical ability to identify supply problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and take or recommend action using established guidelines.
  • Accurate data entry, recordkeeping, documentation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize competing requirements and support maintenance or operational schedules.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in warehouse, tool-room, shop, and maintenance-support environments and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive material-handling tasks during the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move tools, parts, and materials consistent with company safety procedures and any established job‑specific lifting requirements.
  • May be required to operate material-handling or ground‑support equipment if trained and authorized.
  • Candidates may be subjected to pre‑employment physicals and drug screening as applicable to the position and contract.
