Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Supply Clerk to support Supply Technicians in day-to-day unit and installation supply operations. You will assist with receipt, inspection, inventory, storage, issue and accountability of supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with Army standards and contract requirements.

Responsibilities include processing supply records, operating logistics systems, and maintaining accuracy for audits and inventories.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of supply, warehouse, inventory, and property accountability procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and direction from Supply Technicians and supervisory personnel.
  • Ability to accurately complete supply documentation and maintain records.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse and supply environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions when necessary.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Ability to comply with Government and Army safety standards and established workplace procedures.
  • Ability to properly wear and maintain required PPE, including gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as appropriate.
  • Must maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license and applicable Government/Army operator’s licenses or certifications as required.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.

  • Assist with posting and verifying supply transactions to property books and transaction files.
  • Assist in researching supply discrepancies and accountability issues.
  • Conduct physical inventories, location surveys, and stock checks as directed.
  • Maintain records to support audits, inspections, inventories and government requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper receipt, storage, issue and accountability.
  • Maintain clean, safe workspaces and operate material-handling equipment when trained.

Job description

The Supply Clerk provides direct support to Supply Technicians and assists with the day-to-day execution of unit, direct support, and installation supply operations. This position performs routine supply, warehouse, inventory, documentation, and property accountability functions under the direction and oversight of Supply Technicians and supervisory personnel. The Supply Clerk supports the accurate receipt, inspection, inventory, storage, issue, delivery, turn-in, and accountability of organizational, direct support, and installation supplies and equipment while ensuring all assigned duties are performed in accordance with Army standards, established procedures, and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Supply Technicians with the receipt, inspection, inventory, loading, unloading, segregation, storage, issue, delivery, and turn-in of organizational, direct support, and installation supplies and equipment.
  • Operate applicable Unit and Direct Support logistics information systems under the direction of Supply Technicians and supervisory personnel.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain routine unit/direct support supply documentation and supporting records.
  • Maintain accurate automated supply records and assist with organizational, direct support, and installation supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with posting and verifying supply transactions to organizational/direct support and installation property books and supporting transaction files.
  • Assist Supply Technicians with researching supply discrepancies, transaction errors, shortages, overages, and property accountability issues.
  • Assist in determining appropriate documentation and procedures for obtaining relief from responsibility for lost, damaged, or destroyed supply items.
  • Conduct physical inventories, location surveys, stock checks, and other accountability activities as directed.
  • Assist with data entry, document preparation, filing, scanning, and maintenance of supply records.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is completed in a timely manner to support audits, inspections, inventories, and government requirements.
  • Coordinate with Supply Technicians and other warehouse personnel to ensure supplies and equipment are properly received, stored, issued, and accounted for.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, storage areas, and workspaces in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
  • Perform physical handling of supplies and equipment, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling loads weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Support Supply Technicians and supervisory personnel with day-to-day mission requirements and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the mission and contractual requirements.

  • Must maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license and applicable Government/Army operator’s licenses or certifications as required.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must be physically capable of standing, sitting, bending, reaching, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling loads weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Must comply with all applicable safety, security, environmental, and operational requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of U.S. Army experience in supply operations, preferably in the 92Y or 92A MOS.
  • Prior experience supporting Army unit supply, direct support, installation supply, warehouse, or property accountability operations.
  • Prior experience working with GCSS-Army and Army supply documentation.
  • Experience with inventory management, property accountability, warehouse operations, or equipment issue/turn-in processes.
  • Familiarity with Soldier Equipping and Asset Management (SEAM) or other Army logistics systems.
  • Prior experience working in a CIF, SSA, unit supply, or other Army logistics environment.
