Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a dependable Materials Services Associate to store, requisition, pick, distribute, and deliver general and medical supplies across hospital settings. You will scan labels, generate replenishment orders, check for expired items, and support cycle counts in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include delivering supplies to nursing units, assisting with training of staff, and using ERP systems to ensure accurate cost allocation.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, store, requisition, pick, distribute, and deliver general, medical, surgical supplies and equipment throughout various healthcare settings.

Essential Functions
  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Stores supplies in clean rooms, carts, and supply areas, using proper rotation. Scans inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for both stock and non-stock items.
  • Picks supplies from storage locations for distribution and placement into Case Carts, and restocking Exchange Carts such as Code (Crash) Carts and Procedural Carts/Trays.
  • Checks various supply locations for expired or recalled products and removes them per policy.
  • Distributes oxygen tanks and minor equipment.
  • Delivers supplies and packages to nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
  • Responds to phone calls, emails, and customer service requests.
  • Processes issues and credits in the ERP system, ensuring correct cost allocation.
  • Reports inventory discrepancies and documents according to policy.
  • Assists with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Utilizes various computer technologies such as handhelds, package scanners, and software programs.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace and ensure par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
  • Assists with training Supply Chain staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

  • Proficient in typing, computer use, and quickly learning new software applications.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to include coworkers, management, and clinical partners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, including active listening.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem solving.
