NiSource is seeking a Systems Specialist to support, optimize, and govern Supply Chain technology with a focus on Source-to-Pay (S2P) and SAP Ariba. You will bridge business and IT, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement.

You will act as SME for S2P, provide user support, coordinate upgrades, and document processes. Collaboration across IT, Procurement, Warehouse, and Finance is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 1-3 years data analytics, performance management, or BI roles, preferably in Supply Chain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with leadership ability.
  • Knowledge of procurement, category management, inventory or warehouse management.
  • Able to identify challenges and propose creative solutions.
  • Familiarity with data governance, master data management, and system validation.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa or similar tools.
  • Driver's license preferred.

Job Summary

The Systems Specialist reports into the Supply Chain organization and is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and governing Supply Chain technology solutions with a primary focus on Source-to-Pay (S2P) applications, including SAP Ariba and related platforms. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring system capabilities align with business objectives, compliance requirements, and operational efficiency goals. This position requires an analytical mindset, understanding of procurement operations (including third party), a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and transparency.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as a functional subject matter expert for Supply Chain and S2P solutions, including SAP Ariba and related integrated applications.
  • Provide day-to-day support for system users, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution with internal IT teams and external vendors.
  • Monitor system performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and recommend process improvements.
  • Support application upgrades, releases, testing activities, and deployment efforts.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and user guides.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to the Product Owner regarding system enhancements, issue resolution, and process improvements.
  • Participate in the testing, rollout, and documentation of new or upgraded supply chain applications; verify outputs, troubleshoot defects, and train end users.
  • Govern supplier, material, commodity, purchasing, and organizational master data within Supply Chain systems.
  • Coordinate data flows between procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier-relation systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting of purchase orders, inventory levels, and supplier scorecards.
  • Support digital transformation and automation efforts for all supply chain applications.
  • Respond promptly to system disruptions or user inquiries, ensuring minimal impact on supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of procurement and supply chain solutions and stays up to date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy, usability, and accessibility.
  • Provide accurate and timely supply chain reporting required to support enterprise strategic planning, as well as execute on day-to-day operations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary data and performance documentation.
  • Communicate user requirements, system issues, and enhancement requests to the IT team, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with IT, Procurement, Warehouse, and Finance teams for knowledge sharing and continual system optimization.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree Business Analytics, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years data analytics, performance management, or business intelligence roles, with a strong preference for Supply Chain domain exposure.
  • Excellent communication, strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in procurement, category management, warehouse/inventory management, or related function.
  • Ability to identify challenges and propose creative solutions.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles, master data management, and system validation practices.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa, or similar tools.
  • Drivers License Preferred.

Salary Range*

$69,900.00 - $105,000.00 *The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
