Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to create, maintain and monitor supply chain related projects within the Partnership Management Core Functional Unit (PM‑CFU). The main project will manage CMO Serialization but may also include product launches, vendor method transfers, various vendor specific initiatives or miscellaneous projects associated with New Markets.

The Project Manager will work within the EDCS Cross Functional Matrix by supporting and providing Project Management Support Services to Technical Ops CFU, Quality CFU and Other DCU’s.

Project Manager will manage or coordinate various aspects of assigned projects which include scope management, schedule development, managing the overall project plan, identifying resource requirements, risk identification and mitigation, budget management, reporting and overall communication. Additionally, they will proactively identify and recognize when issues need to be escalated to Senior Management in a timely manner and work together with the Project Team to propose resolutions.

The Project Manager will serve as the Business Unit Expert in Project Management. This individual will lead the proposed initiative or assign and coach other appropriate team members.

Functional Responsibilities
  • Meet with various business groups to understand the current processes
  • Direct cross‑functional teams through application of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies and then ensure the team implements optimized processes
  • Continuously improves project delivery by exploring and instituting new project management methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery as appropriate
  • Maintains the documentation related to Portfolio Management, Project Delivery and Service Requests
  • Manages standards and templates for project work such as project plans, project organization, stakeholder outlines, charter templates, business requirements, functional specs, technical specs, and all associated project related project materials
  • Develop project metrics and feedback measurements to ensure professional delivery of projects

Develop, lead and manage full life cycle project management activities such as: identification of resource requirements, budgeting, reporting, scope development, scheduling, KPIs and timing with the Partnership Management Core Functional Unit (PM‑CFU) including product launches, technical transfers, method transfers, alliance projects, and projects associated with New Market activities.

30% • Identify and mitigate risks associated with assigned projects by developing mitigation plans, escalation strategies, and proactively monitoring risks throughout the project. Coordinate with Project Managers in other functional units (e.g. Client Commercial) to ensure Integrated Global Plan

20% • Mentor and coach colleagues building their project management skills and techniques. Serve as the Business Unit expert on Project Management. Develop Project Management templates and toolkits for use within PM‑CFU that can be utilized by others within the organization to more effectively manage their projects. Examples include product launches, New Market support activities, Alliance Management activities and Technical/Method transfers.

15% • Develop Best Practice management -Meet with various business groups to understand the current processes and working with cross‑functional teams develop best practice through application of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.

15% • Anticipate and proactively address simple or complex project bottlenecks or issues. Recommend and implement enhancement to projects by soliciting input from project members.

10% • Collaborate across all the teams in the application of BPM tools and techniques:

  • Ensure we meet project budgets and expected outcomes
  • Lead the delivery of process documentation, user guides, and training support to the business groups

10% • The Project Manager will employ Project Management techniques to manage the Serialization activities for Client’s CMO’s. The PM will work with WBS Leaders to ensure clear understanding of timelines, impacts and resource constraints. The expected deployment of US activities will occur in June 2017.

The project manager will have matrix responsibility for Project resources and will be required to negotiate their required time commitment. They will also need to influence stakeholders with varying levels of authority.

This individual will be responsible for identifying project risks and providing resolutions, and develop project deliverables for specific functions in the project team. He/she will positively influence the team to make business critical decisions and successfully advance the project forward.

This position will also utilize tools and techniques to model different scenarios and develop contingency plans and recommendations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Science (or related field) or 5+ Years of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and/or Package Engineering experience required;
  • 3-5+ Years of Project Management experience required
  • Experience in managing large, complex international projects in a multinational/multicultural environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience and demonstrated leadership in managing international project stakeholder teams from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Professional certification e.g. PMP, ITIL or PgMP will be advantageous or proven experience in using sophisticated PPM tool preferred
  • Advanced user in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Sharepoint)
  • Highly developed computer skills including SAP and Microsoft Suite (MS Project) required
  • Materials Requirement Planning including ERP System knowledge (SAP Preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional and cross‑regional teams in a multi‑cultural environment
  • Must be both strategic and task‑oriented/issue resolution focused
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills are required in order to effectively deal with all levels, including executive management
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and verbal/written communication skills required
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple requests required
  • The role may require occasional limited domestic and/or international travel
