Job Summary

Join a high-impact team at the heart of diesel engine manufacturing as a Supply Chain Planning Engineer, where you will drive supply chain planning and analytics for CNC machining operations producing engine blocks and cylinder heads. As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer, you will leverage advanced tools to transform data into actionable insights, optimize inventory strategies, improve supplier performance, and ensure material availability for critical production operations. You will partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, and Engineering teams to develop innovative solutions, enhance visibility across the supply chain, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that directly influence operational success.

What you will do:
  • Analyze material flow, inventory performance, and production requirements for CNC machining operations producing diesel engine blocks and cylinder heads to identify and implement supply chain improvements that enhance service levels, inventory utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, Scheduling, and Engineering teams, as well as key suppliers, to develop integrated supply chain solutions, resolve material constraints, and support uninterrupted production.
  • Develop and enhance supply chain analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide visibility to inventory, part shortages, supplier performance, pending inspections, and supply-demand imbalances, enabling data-driven decision making across the operation.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, lead-time changes, safety stock strategies, and planning parameters to proactively identify risks and optimize inventory investments while ensuring material availability for production.
  • Leverage industry benchmarks, supply chain best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies to improve planning processes, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive measurable business results.
  • Analyze operational and supply chain data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, inventory optimization, production prioritization, and overall supply chain performance improvement, including evaluation of the expected return on investment (ROI) for proposed initiatives.
What you will have:
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.
  • Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
What would make you a top candidate:
  • MAMM/PLEX Systems: Knowledge of MAMM and PLEX applications and their use within manufacturing and supply chain environments; ability to leverage system capabilities to support operational efficiency, process execution, inventory management, and supply chain performance.
  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence: Knowledge of data analytics methodologies, reporting tools, and statistical techniques; ability to utilize Power BI, SQL, Python, R, and related technologies to analyze complex data sets, develop insights, automate reporting, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • End-to-End Supply Chain Modeling: Knowledge of supply chain principles, modeling techniques, and optimization strategies; ability to design, analyze, and implement end-to-end supply chain models that improve forecasting, inventory management, production planning, logistics, and overall network performance.
