Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Supply Chain Operational Excellence Specialist to drive quality and productivity improvements across the department. You will develop scorecards, lead root-cause analysis, and translate results for executive-level presentation.

The role requires 4 years of experience in quality or process improvement, project management, and proven leadership in workshops; a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in quality, process improvement, industrial engineering, or business analysis.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in leading teams and facilitating workshops from start to finish with measurable results and operational impact.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and implement key improvement opportunities through identification of waste, inefficiencies, key process failures and weaknesses through the supply chain operations value chain.
  • Facilitate improvement activities, utilizing lean methods, value stream maps, SIPOC, RACI and other problem-solving tools as needed to improve process maturity.
  • Builds and manages statistical process control charts to monitor and support improvement efforts.
  • Provides coaching and experience as a subject matter expert to others working with lean methodologies.
  • Collaborates with all Children’s supply chain operations and support functions to improve their key performance indicators.
  • Build a coaching culture and provide individual coaching to supply chain staff and leadership throughout the change and transformation process.
  • Monitor improvement progress and sustain transformational gains over time through continued metric review and consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with appropriate physicians, leaders, and staff to obtain, document, and validate information related to assigned projects.
  • Evaluates and implements new initiatives that assist in the achievement of system goals.
  • Maintains professional development by expanding knowledge base of methodologies and techniques including Model for Improvement, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and Lean.

Job Description

The Supply Chain Operational Excellence Specialist contributes to the execution of the department vision and strategies by identifying and driving quality and productivity improvements. Develops, maintains, and provides departmental scorecards/visibility boards and associated action plans to leadership. Facilitates the identification of key measures, root cause analysis, data analysis, improvement opportunities and the implementation of such improvements. Supports the tracking, assessment and integration of improvement plans across Children’s. Translates results into easily understood presentations to support executive-level communications.

Experience
  • 4 years of experience in quality, process improvement, industrial engineering, or business analysis
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in leading teams and facilitating workshops from start to finish with measurable results and operational impact
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Healthcare, Business, or related field
  • Experience with process improvement in a healthcare supply chain environment
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
  • Project management experience
