Responsibilities

Job description

Materials and Logistics Manager wanted in Piedmont, South Carolina to :

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely sourcing of raw materials, components, and supplies, aligning with company production schedules and budget constraints;
• Oversee inventory management processes, including stock control, demand forecasting, and replenishment to minimize excess inventory and stockouts;
• Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods domestically and internationally, selecting carriers, negotiating shipping rates, and ensuring adherence to delivery schedules; manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping, while maintaining safety and efficiency standards;
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure the procurement and delivery of quality materials at competitive prices; monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, generating reports to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction;
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and company policies related to materials handling and logistics; collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and finance to synchronize supply chain activities with organizational goals; implement and utilize ERP and inventory management software systems (e.g., SAP, QAD) to track procurement, inventory levels, and logistics operations;
• Lead and oversee projects related to supply chain optimization, warehouse layout redesign, or implementation of new logistics technologies;
• Prepare and manage budgets for procurement and logistics activities, ensuring cost-effective operations;
• Conduct risk assessments related to supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans;
• Train and supervise logistics staff and warehouse personnel, promoting adherence to safety procedures and operational standards;
• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting supply chain management.
