The Supply Chain Manager oversees the supply chain functions and is responsibilities for procurement, operational planning, supplier quality, strategic sourcing and logistics. The supply chain manager will be a hands-on, font-line leader with presence to establish immediate credibility with suppliers and Waaree senior leaders.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes supply chain strategies aligned with production requirements, business objectives, customer demand, and company growth plans.
- Establishes processes to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials required for solar panel manufacturing.
- Partners with Production Planning to develop material requirements and ensure materials are available according to the production schedule.
- Monitors demand forecasts, production schedules, inventory levels, and supplier lead times.
- Identifies supply chain risks and develop contingency and mitigation plans.
- Establishes appropriate safety-stock levels based on demand, lead times, supplier performance, and business requirements.
- Leads procurement activities for raw materials, components, consumables, packaging, equipment, and other manufacturing requirements.
- Manages purchasing solar manufacturing materials such as Solar cells, Glass, EVA/POE encapsulants, Backsheets, Aluminum frames, Junction boxes, Cables and connectors, Adhesives and sealants, Packaging materials, and Manufacturing consumables.
- Negotiates pricing, payment terms, lead times, minimum order quantities, and supply agreements.
- Develops and maintains qualified supplier sources.
- Monitor supplier performance using metrics such as quality, on-time delivery, lead time, responsiveness, and cost; conducts supplier reviews and performance evaluations.
- Works with Quality and Engineering to address supplier quality issues and corrective actions.
- Monitors geopolitical, transportation, commodity, and other risks that may affect material availability. Evaluates suppliers to determine capacity, capability and cost-competitive pricing and identify opportunities for continuous improvements.
- Implements standardized procurement, planning and logistics policies and procedures that deliver operational excellence.
- Manages and improves the use of ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory, planning, and supply chain activities.
- Maintains accurate item masters, supplier information, lead times, minimum order quantities, and planning parameters.
- Ensure purchase orders, receipts, inventory movements, and other transactions are accurately recorded.
- Develops supply chain reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.
- Uses data and analytics to identify trends, risks, cost opportunities, and process improvements.
- Actively seeks out and develops relationships with new suppliers within the industry.
- Drives corrective actions to resolve supplier issues and develops a robust supplier base.
- Implements and maintains SAP system with advanced planning.
- Manages RFQ process, implementing procedures that drive a thorough evaluation.
- Implements and lead SIOP process for US entity collaborating with business development, program management and engineering to ensure adequate and timely supply chain.
- Any other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience of progressive supply chain, procurement, materials management, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience managing suppliers, purchasing, inventory, logistics, and material planning.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with significant material requirements.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory-management principles.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other supply chain/business systems. International sourcing/knowledge experience.
- SAP experience.
- In depth knowledge and experience of Planning, Procurement, and Logistics systems.
- Demonstrated experience of project management standard of bids, tracking, and reporting.
- English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
- Physical Demands: General office environment.
