Select Custom Solutions in La Crosse, WI is offering a Supply Chain Intern position for Summer 2027. The role provides hands-on experience across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning.

You will work with the Supply Chain team and cross-functional partners on data analysis, process improvements, and special projects, developing foundational knowledge of supply chain systems within a food manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in SCM, Logistics, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience with business reporting tools.
  • Understanding of ERP areas: Accounting, Supply Chain, & Manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook; strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Data analysis to support supply chain operations (forecasting, inventory, logistics).
  • Monitor and manage inventory to ensure product availability.
  • Assist with supplier communications, orders, and PO tracking.
  • Coordinate shipments and resolve transportation issues.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on supply chain metrics and performance.

Working closely with the Supply Chain team and cross-functional partners, this role assists with supply chain activities, data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and special projects that support operational efficiency and business needs.This internship provides exposure to end-to-end supply chain processes within a food and beverage manufacturing environment while developing foundational knowledge of supply chain systems, processes, and best practices.**Job Duties:*** Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to support supply chain operations, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics optimization.* Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.* Procurement Support: Help with supplier communications, order placement, and tracking of purchase orders.* Logistics Coordination: Support the logistics team in coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving transportation issues.* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.* Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports on supply chain performance metrics, including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and delivery times.* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.* Perform other related duties as assigned.* Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol.* Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.* Correct or report any observed safety hazards.* Support safety policies and programs.*This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.***Qualifications:****Education Required:*** Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.**Experience Required:*** Minimum one (1) year working with and managing business reporting tools* Understanding of ERP functional areas such as: Accounting, Supply Chain, & Manufacturing* Ability to manage medium-size projects from start to finish including but not limited to setting meetings and agenda, capturing notes and action items, troubleshooting issues, identifying roadblocks, communication to stakeholders, recording and tracking of project work items, and gathering end user signoff.**Certification/Licensure Required:*** None**Skills Required:*** Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.* Ability to extract, analyze, and act on information with limited supervisory input.* Results driven, bottom-line oriented, strive to exceed goals, and motivate self and others to achieve positive outcomes.* Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.* Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines in a professional manner in collaboration with colleagues.* Strong problem-solving and quantitative critical thinking skills* Basic understanding of supply chain concepts and principles.*AA/EEO - Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity*We're proud to partner with **Select Milk Producers**, one of the nation's largest and most innovative dairy cooperatives.
