Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking motivated undergrad interns for the Aftermarket Supply Chain team in Canton, OH. You’ll work on on-time delivery of Power Train Parts, coordinate with suppliers and dealers, and develop hands-on supply chain skills.

Internships begin May/June, may transition to full-time based on performance. Relocation is possible; the role includes a focus on collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement within SAP and Salesforce environments.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher or recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date
  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Acts with urgency
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on critical business metrics
  • Works within SAP and Salesforce applications

Responsibilities

  • Manage a deck of parts to procure from 3rd party suppliers to ensure on time delivery into 11 different parts distribution centers
  • Review backorders daily and work with suppliers, operations, transportation, and purchasing to remove barriers on delivery issues to reduce backorders
  • Answer customer cases and inquires on part delivery status and lead times
  • Review part deck for opportunities to reduce excess inventory
  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, central planning, and other groups to determine root cause of repeating issues and put corrective actions in place to prevent reoccurrence
  • Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs

Inside the Role

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

The Aftermarket Supply Chain intern will join the Aftermarket Supply Chain team responsible for on time delivery of Power Train Parts to the Distribution Network. The Aftermarket Supply Chain team works directly with suppliers to procure parts to, route through Parts Distribution Centers and to Dealers to prevent and eliminate truck down time. The team works collaboratively with purchasing to establish high performing suppliers, operations to ensure efficient throughput to PDC and dealers, and IT to streamline ordering processes. The team interacts daily with customers to provide shipment ETAs and lead time to ensure end customer satisfaction.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.
