Job Profile Summary
Oversees the coordination, monitoring and response to backordered and discontinued products. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Monitoring EDI PO confirmation transactions, verbal communication via buyers, assessing and reviewing the larger supply chain marketplace. Assesses risk to the organization with backorders and discontinued products by monitoring stock on hand volumes, forecasting usage, determining decision makers for approval of substitute products, researching availability of comparable products, and maintaining a master substitute item list to track products approved for use in place of system standard items. Responsible for notifying and communicating to end users back order/ discontinued products and status updates. Works directly with manufacturers and manufacturer representatives to validate actual backorder/discontinuation as well as identifying alternate items. Is responsible for the onboarding and education plan for new hires.
