Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Whitewater, WI is seeking a part-time Supply Chain Associate to support inventory management, procurement, sourcing and quoting for business customers.

This role is based at 1065 Universal Blvd, Whitewater, WI and offers a schedule of 10–28 hours per week with potential flexibility after onboarding. Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements for using a company vehicle.
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in Business/Supply Chain/Operations/Management/Marketing/Sales or related field OR relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
  • Lift, slide, carry and lower packages up to 50lbs and up to 75lbs in some cases.
  • Pass required drug screen where applicable.

  • Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
  • Supporting accounts receivable activities.

OVERVIEW:

Embark on a dynamic journey as a Part-time Supply Chain Associate, where every day offers a new opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of supply chain excellence. In addition to managing inventory, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting business-to-business operations by administering procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions that seamlessly meet the needs of our customers and drive the success of their business. This position is for our branch located at 1065 Universal Blvd, Whitewater, WI 53190. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Managing branch inventory levels
  • Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
  • Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
  • Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
  • Supporting accounts receivable activities
  • Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
  • Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
  • Possess a current full valid driver’s license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
  • Possess or are working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field of study OR have customer service or industry related work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
