Job summary

Ford is seeking a SAP MM functional specialist to support end users in purchasing, handling requisitions, POs, contracts, source lists, vendor evaluation and invoice verification with data integrity and process compliance.

You will act as the primary liaison between the business and IT, translating needs into system requirements, configuring and testing SAP MM, coordinating integrations with SAP SD, FI and WM/EWM, and training users across the Supply Chain landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in IT/Engineering/Business/Logistics or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP MM processes: purchasing, inventory management, invoice verification.
  • Experience as Key User/Q User or systems support in Purchasing or Supply Chain.
  • Experience with SAP implementation projects, upgrades or transitions.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional/technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to train and support end users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional support to Purchasing in SAP MM: requisitions, POs, contracts, source lists, vendor evaluation, invoice verification.
  • Serve as main liaison between Purchasing/Business and IT, translating needs into requirements and validating solutions.
  • Configure, parameterize, test, and troubleshoot SAP MM, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Support SAP MM integration with SAP SD, FI, WM/EWM and related Supply Chain systems.
  • Participate in SAP ecosystem implementation activities: requirements, testing, documentation, and user training.
  • Support transition and migration of Supply Chain and Purchasing systems while ensuring business continuity.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement in Purchasing SAP landscape.
  • Create and maintain process flows, configurations, and user guides.
  • Provide training and guidance to end users on SAP MM functionalities.
  • Monitor performance, diagnose recurring issues, and implement corrective actions.

Job description

  • Perform system configuration, parameterization, testing, and troubleshooting within SAP MM, ensuring data integrity and process compliance.
  • Support the integration of SAP MM with other modules (e.g., SAP SD, FI, WM/EWM) and with Supply Chain systems.
  • Participate actively in the implementation of the new SAP ecosystem, including requirements gathering, testing (unit, integration, and user acceptance testing), documentation, and training.
  • Support the transition and migration of Supply Chain and Purchasing systems over the coming years, ensuring business continuity during system changes and upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement within the Purchasing systems landscape.
  • Prepare and maintain technical and functional documentation (process flows, system configurations, user guides).
  • Provide training and guidance to end users on system usage and new functionalities.
  • Monitor system performance, identify recurring issues, and propose corrective/preventive actions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields.
  • Solid knowledge of the SAP MM (Materials Management) module, including configuration and functional processes (purchasing, inventory management, invoice verification).
  • Prior experience as a Key User/Q User or in a systems support role within Purchasing or Supply Chain areas.
  • Experience with SAP implementation projects, system upgrades, or technology transitions is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of integration points between SAP MM and other modules (e.g., SD, FI, WM/EWM).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional/technical solutions, acting as a liaison between business and IT teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to train and support end users.
  • Experience preparing functional/technical documentation (process flows, configuration guides, user manuals).
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required
  • SAP certification (MM module) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry or Supply Chain systems is a plus.
