Job summary

Philips is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager in Latham, NY to oversee supplier performance using APQP, drive continuous quality improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle.

You will manage APQP plans, lead supplier evaluations, and coordinate with R&D and suppliers on DfX initiatives to meet CtQ requirements and ensure successful production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Engineering Science, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in Quality/Process Engineering or related fields with a Bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years of Management experience in Supplier Quality Management, APQP/PPAP and Process Validation, medical device regulations and standards, Data Analysis, DFX, CAPA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier partners' quality performance by applying APQP in product industrialization and lifecycle quality improvement.
• Manage APQP plans for NPI and sustaining changes, including talent management and performance development.
• Foster collaboration between R&D and suppliers through Design for Excellence initiatives.
• Ensure Critical to Quality (CtQ) characteristics are communicated to suppliers and integrated into processes.
• Negotiate Supplier Quality Agreements and review SCARs; lead supplier improvement initiatives within APQP framework.

In this role you

Are responsible for overseeing supplier partners' high-quality performance by applying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) in product industrialization, driving continuous quality improvement throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, and identifying improvement opportunities through CoNQ data analysis.

Your role:

• Manages technical capability assessments of potential new suppliers, ensuring their capabilities align with organizational standards, and manages the supplier selection.
• Supervises, monitors, and controls APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) plans as part of both the NPI and sustaining change processes, ensuring consistent quality throughout the product lifecycle. Manages talent across the team, while driving employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and ensuring effective operational management.
• Fosters collaboration between R&D and suppliers through Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives, promoting innovative designs that meet quality standards.
• Ensures Critical to Quality (CtQ) characteristics are effectively communicated to suppliers and incorporated into their processes, supporting consistent quality output. Oversees Part Submission Warrant (PSW) plans, deliverables, line releases, and completion, ensuring all parts meet specified quality requirements before production approval.
• Manages the quality relationship with key suppliers, negotiating Supplier Quality Agreements, conducting defect analyses to determine supplier responsibility, and serving as an independent reviewer for Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), while providing guidance and leadership in specific SQ functional areas such as APQP and SCAR. Initiates supplier improvement and development initiatives within the APQP framework, including supplier performance monitoring, quality risk assessment, and mitigation strategies, while supporting the development, execution, and maintenance of supplier audit schedules.

You're the right fit if:

• Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Engineering Science, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience with Bachelor's in areas such as Quality Engineering, Safety Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement Techniques or equivalent.
• We prefer 3+ years of Management experience with Supplier Quality Management, APQP (PPAP) and Process Validation, medical device regulations and standards, Supplier Evaluation Methodologies, Data Analysis, DFX Methodology. CAPA.
• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Office/Remote position.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This is an office role.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Latham NY is $120,000 to $170,400 Annually.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
