Job summary

International interns in Lisle, IL will join the Supplier Quality team for a 12-week Summer 2027 program. You will explore QMS processes, PPAP reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure supplier excellence and product reliability.

The internship offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to global supply chain challenges within TRATON GROUP. Strong communication and engineering fundamentals are required.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Available for 12 weeks, Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth learning of International business systems and processes.
  • Work on Quality Management Systems documentation, including develop, implement, maintain, and control process documents.
  • Build and manage relationships with end users, cross-functional teams, vendors, and management through collaboration projects.
  • Anticipate potential problems, be proactive and manage changes to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
  • Work with external suppliers and internal cross functional teams to review PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), continuous improvement projects, and problem solving.
  • Maintains consistent and clear communication with executive leadership and key stakeholders on status and resolution of critical supplier issues.

Join us as a Supplier Quality Engineering Intern!

We’re looking for interns pursuing degrees in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering to join our dynamic Supplier Quality team within Procurement. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to explore innovation and technology while contributing to the systems and processes that ensure product reliability and supplier excellence. You’ll work on impactful projects, collaborate across departments, and help strengthen our global supply chain.

Minimum Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
OR
  • For Legal Jobs: Pursuing a Juris Doctor degree or Doctor of Law degree (J.D.)
Additional Requirements
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)
Desired Skills
  • At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application

  • Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting mid-to-late May through early August)

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communications skills

  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing, computer, and software skills

  • Ability to work on MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Benefits and Compensation

This position offers competitive pay to support employees as they gain real world experience and grow professionally. The hourly pay range is $27–$32 per hour. Benefits offered for intern and co op positions are limited to paid time off (PTO) and paid company holidays during the assignment.
