Position Overview:

Job Summary:

  • Participate in supplier selection, development, and validation, ensuring compliance with PAC requirements. Investigate technical, quality, and performance issues with the Materials team, utilizing DMAIC and problem-solving methodologies. Support Material Review Board (MRB), investigate rejections, perform root cause analysis, and prepare management reports on supply chain quality and supplier performance.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to resolve technical issues. Use problem-solving tools like DMAIC. Work with suppliers on quality issues, define and validate corrective and preventive actions, and utilize risk analysis and Poka-Yoke techniques.
  • Drive supplier PPM and OTD performance, lead supplier QBRs, and promote continuous improvement. Communicate supplier performance issues internally and externally, review open CARs, track closure status, and generate monthly reports.
  • Develop and clarify Critical Product Characteristics and CTQs, perform process audits, and ensure suppliers meet PAC requirements, including PPAP and control plans. Review and approve supplier documentation.
  • Suggest and develop quality systems to improve departmental functions, leveraging advanced quality methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels within the organization and with suppliers, presenting clear and concise information.

The salary range is $93,000 – $157,000, which may vary based on experience, skills, and location. Additional bonuses and incentives may apply. The minimum hourly wage will be the higher of the posted range or local minimum wage.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • At least 6 years in supplier quality or quality engineering, especially in electro-mechanical manufacturing.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Qualified AS9100 auditor.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, QI macros, Minitab; ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Expertise in quality tools, PPAP, DMAIC, and related methodologies.
  • ASQ certifications preferred.
  • Understanding of LEAN principles.

Other Requirements:

  • Up to 20-25% travel; valid driver’s license and US passport or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as electronic assembly, wire harnessing, injection molding, machining, and procurement.
  • Familiarity with ISO/9000, AS9100, FAA Part 145 regulations.
