Job summary

Contechs is seeking an energetic Supplier Quality Engineer (Body-in-White) to join our growing team in Troy, MI. The role supports all aspects of supplier quality, including APQP, supplier performance, and development to meet program milestones.

You will collaborate with internal and external partners, drive supplier KPI programs, and help ensure tooling and parts are on time and within budget. A strong quality mindset and fast-paced startup environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree or equiv. or previous working level experience.
• 10+ years of Supplier Quality including site audits, continuous improvement, APQP, lean problem-solving principles and leading a team by example.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Experience with varied components (Stampings, extrusions, castings, seals, etc)
• Ability to identify process issues and drive improvements to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
• Strong working knowledge of value driven supplier KPI and scorecard development and implementation.
• Work directly with engineering and manufacturing regarding technical GD&T, and drawing standards training and review.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• High level of integrity
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Own APQP processes with suppliers and ensure alignment with quality requirements.
• Develop and maintain supplier KPI/scorecards and drive corrective actions.
• Evaluate suppliers for production awards and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support company objectives and core values.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing on GD&T and drawing standards training and review.

Job description

• We are looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), Body-in-White to join our clients’ growing team.
• The SQE will be supporting all aspects of Supplier Quality and performance.
• This position will be responsible for understanding and working closely with internal and external customers’ expectations, sourcing, quality, supplier development, delivering tooling, and parts on budget and on time per our program milestones.
• In this position, you will be responsible for performing administering the APQP process, holding supplier(s) accountable to our Quality Requirements Manual, developing and implementing supplier partner KPI/scorecard, and implementing actions to improve hold suppliers accountable to perform.
• The SQE will also be pivotal in evaluating suppliers for production awards, all aspects of supplier quality performance, developing strong supplier relationships, and working with all internal stakeholders to support the company’s overall objectives and core values.
