Job summary

AM General is seeking a dedicated SQE to support the Quality Department during new model changes and ongoing product development, ensuring supplier parts meet specifications in a demanding production environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, 5+ years in automotive/defense manufacturing, and strong knowledge of AIAG tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Education and experience in Automotive/Defense or manufacturing preferred
• Experience with AIAG quality tools and statistical methods
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Quality Department during new model changes and future product development and engineering changes
• Work cross-functionally with all departments, suppliers and locations to ensure supplier parts meet specifications for production
• Lead and support investigation of non-conforming parts to verify compliance with released design
• When non-conformances are found, address issues promptly and drive corrective action with the supplier
• Manage non-conforming material containment to prevent usage in production
• Collaborate with supplier and production teams to identify and manage non-conforming material including sorting, rework, quarantine and disposition
• Process non-conforming material for final disposition using defined AMG processes
• Track supplier performance metrics to support supply base improvement
• Promote a safe and respectful work environment and adhere to all policies
