Job summary

Woodward, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer II in Illinois to evaluate supplier performance, identify root causes of quality issues, and lead improvement initiatives across procurement, engineering, and production teams.

You will develop and maintain quality documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies while supporting Woodward’s energy control solutions for a clean future.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Performance Evaluation: assess supplier quality metrics and compliance with contractual requirements.

• Continuous Improvement Leadership: lead small scale projects to improve supplier processes and product quality.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: work with procurement, engineering, and production to align quality objectives.
• Quality Documentation and Reporting: develop quality reports documenting supplier performance and decisions.

Supplier Quality Engineer II

• Estimated annual base pay: $75,000.00 (minimum) - $97,000.00 (midpoint) - $120,000.00 (maximum)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments of supplier quality metrics to ensure adherence to established standards and contractual requirements.
• Root Cause Analysis: Identify and analyze complex quality issues, determining root causes and developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead small scale improvement projects focused on enhancing supplier processes and product quality through the implementation of best practices.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams to align supplier quality objectives with overall business goals.
• Quality Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive quality reports and documentation to track supplier performance and support informed decision making.

• Effective Communication: Excellent in conveying complex quality information clearly and building consensus among cross functional teams.
• Problem Solving: Strong ability to develop innovative solutions to complex quality challenges based on comprehensive data analysis.
• Regulatory Compliance: Knowledgeable in industry regulations and standards to ensure supplier and product compliance.
• Leadership: Able to guide and mentor less experienced colleagues and lead small scale projects with minimal oversight.
