Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support supplier evaluation, qualification, and ongoing performance. You will apply the Parker Quality Process (PQP) and AIAG core tools to ensure supplier readiness, process control, and quality planning across new components, processes, and finished goods.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations to resolve quality issues, conduct audits, and lead corrective actions, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering field or related technical discipline and/or ASQ certification as Quality Engineer or equivalent certification
• Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality engineering in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of supplier quality processes, including supplier evaluation, audits, corrective action, SCARs, PPAP/APQP, and supplier performance management
• Knowledge of AIAG core tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans
• Understanding of statistical quality methods, process capability, root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement tools
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection methods, and quality requirements, knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, assembly, special processes, or other applicable supplier processes
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, define problems, establish facts, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and management

Responsibilities

• Support supplier evaluation, qualification, selection, and ongoing performance monitoring through supplier assessments, quality system reviews, and process audits
• Apply the Parker Quality Process (PQP) to supplier quality activities to ensure consistent execution of defined quality standards, requirements, and customer expectations
• Use AIAG core tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans, to support supplier readiness, product launch, process control, and quality planning
• Review and support approval of supplier quality documentation, including Supplier PPAP submissions, Supplier Quality Requirement Plans, inspection plans, control plans, and process control documentation
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Management, and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues affecting production, delivery, cost of poor quality, or product reliability
• Coordinate and support supplier corrective action activities, including SCARs, containment, root cause analysis, corrective action verification, and effectiveness monitoring
• Analyze supplier quality performance, defect trends, nonconforming material, and process capability data to identify improvement opportunities and preventive actions
• Support timely disposition of supplier-related nonconforming material by coordinating with internal stakeholders through the Material Review Board (MRB) process and working with suppliers to resolve quality issues
• Conduct supplier quality system and process audits, including reporting, follow-up, and closure of nonconformances
• Lead and support supplier development activities to improve quality performance, delivery performance, process capability, and long‑term supplier reliability, including increased implementation of Dock‑to‑Stock and replenishment programs
• Specify, validate, and support inspection tools, gages, calibration requirements, and measurement systems used to verify supplier product quality
• Participate in design reviews, process reviews, and supplier quality planning activities to ensure quality requirements are incorporated early through the APQP process
• Support Parker Zero-Defect initiatives through defect prevention, disciplined problem solving, continuous improvement, and consistent supplier quality execution

Position Summary

Supports supplier quality activities in alignment with the Parker Quality Process (PQP) to ensure supplier products, services, and processes meet Parker quality standards and customer expectations. Supports supplier performance management, selection, evaluation, readiness, and process capability activities for new components, processes, assemblies, or purchased finished goods.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction

Reports directly to the Supplier Quality Manager. Collaborates with internal teams, including Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Management, as well as suppliers and customers. May provide work direction, guidance, training, and technical support to Supplier Quality Technicians and/or Co-Ops, as assigned.
