The role emphasizes continuous improvement, supplier audits, root cause analysis, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve complex quality issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline and 6+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or 4+ years with a master's degree.
  • Basic understanding of inspection methods and computer operations/applications.
  • Strong analytical ability to develop solutions to quality issues and present them to internal contacts.
  • Detail-oriented for accurate statistical reports and technical documents.
  • Leadership skills to manage project costs and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new suppliers to ensure product and flow-down compliance with GA-ASI and customer requirements.
  • Identify and drive supplier and product improvements based on supplier performance and product compliance metrics.
  • Conduct comprehensive supplier audits and on-site inspections to evaluate manufacturing processes and adherence to quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Perform root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and fishbone diagrams to address quality problems.
  • Identify and implement design or manufacturing changes to enhance quality, producibility, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement projects to improve yield and reduce nonconformance.
  • Support and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Perform on-site or virtual product verification activities (Source Inspection) to ensure product compliance prior to shipment.
  • Provide technical support to receiving inspection personnel with resolution of confirmed and suspected quality nonconformances.
  • Serve as a technical quality liaison across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve complex issues and ensure compliance.

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive product quality with the supply chain across the entire lifecycle — from new product introduction (NPI) through sustaining production — while ensuring AS9100 compliance, robust quality systems, and continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline and six or more years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or four or more years with a master's degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education
  • Must be able to apply a basic understanding of inspection methods and have a basic knowledge of computer operations and applications.
  • Must have the analytical ability required to develop solutions to routine and non-routine quality issues and the skills required to present those solutions to internal contacts.
  • Must be detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents in support of company objectives.
  • Must have good leadership skills to ensure project costs and schedules are maintained.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary
Salary range: 90,500 - 155,375
