Job Description Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring suppliers consistently meet quality, delivery, and performance expectations across the Aeroderivative Engine Operations Industrialization supply chain. In this role, you will evaluate supplier capability, conduct supplier qualifications and audits, monitor performance, and work directly with suppliers to drive continuous improvement.

The SQE partners closely with cross-functional teams — including Supplier Quality Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Planning, and New Product Introduction/Management of Change teams — to support supplier readiness, strengthen supply chain performance, and ensure alignment with business and industry requirements. This role is critical to maintaining supply chain integrity, supporting operational excellence, and enabling successful supplier onboarding and development.

This position includes onsite supplier support as needed and requires the ability to travel globally up to 20%.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier qualification and supplier development activities for the Aeroderivative Engine Operations Industrialization supply chain.
  • Conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with quality requirements, company standards, and applicable industry expectations.
  • Evaluate supplier performance using key quality metrics such as PPM, escapes, MRB, and other scorecard indicators to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive sustainable improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Develop and manage supplier action plans to address performance gaps and support progression toward industrial standards of excellence.
  • Perform new supplier qualifications, maintain qualification records, and provide regular updates on supplier performance and readiness.
  • Support supplier onboarding activities and coordinate supplier exit processes when needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, planning, sourcing, and supplier quality to align supplier strategies with business and product quality requirements.
  • Provide technical and quality guidance to suppliers related to manufacturing processes, quality systems, and compliance expectations.
  • Use data analysis, technical knowledge, and sound judgment to solve moderately complex supplier quality issues and support decision-making.
  • Influence stakeholders and suppliers through clear communication, collaboration, and consensus-building.
  • Serve as a quality resource and share best practices with internal teams and suppliers.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience OR associate’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 4 years of professional quality systems or supplier quality experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Experience leading projects, initiatives, or cross-functional improvement efforts
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, document, and execute programs effectively
  • Experience conducting supplier or quality system audits
  • Formal quality audit certification
  • Training or experience in Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, or similar structured problem-solving tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply technical requirements in a supplier environment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work across functions and build productive supplier relationships
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to support alignment, drive accountability, and achieve results
  • Adaptable, transparent, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment

This role will require in-person attendance for New Hire Orientation on Day 1

The base pay range for this position is $116,000 - $140,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
