Job summary

Redbock - an NES Fircroft company seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer for a 12-month on-site contract in El Paso, TX. The role focuses on ensuring supplier quality, qualifying suppliers to standards, and coordinating sampling strategies and control plans for new products.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4+ years in supplier quality, or 2 years with an advanced degree. Experience in medical device or automotive supplier qualification is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of supplier quality experience, or 2 years with advanced degree.
• Experience with Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA QMSR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
• Qualify suppliers to company standards; may administer a Certified Supplier Program.
• Monitor parts from acquisition through manufacturing; communicate and resolve supplier issues.
• Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback on their operations.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop sampling strategies, supplier lists, and quality deployment for new products.
• Define receiving inspection requirements and test method validation for internal methods.

Supplier Quality Engineer (12 month contract // El Paso, TX):

On site at supplier 3 days per week in El Paso, TX

Top 3 Skills:

• Experience with supplier part qualification in either medical device or automotive industry

• Experience with Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Engineering

Years of Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant supplier quality engineer experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Duties:

• Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
• Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness.
• Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur.
• Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.
• Partners with cross functional teams (R&D, sourcing, engineering, operations, quality), to deliver quality parts, materials, and services, prevent defects, and allow the client to provide customers with the highest quality and reliable products.
• Provides technical guidance and quality compliance throughout the product lifecycle (with focus on supplier changes) and implementing strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement, ensuring purchased products and components are manufactured and qualified in accordance to applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams to develop and deliver the Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List coordination, Supplier Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products.
• Define Receiving Inspection requirements as required and associated test method validation for all internal Test Methods.
