Actalent is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to expedite products within our supplier base and improve quality. The role involves observing, evaluating, and suggesting improvements to quality processes and manufacturability, and collaborating with suppliers to raise efficiency.

This contract role is based in Avon, OH with a hybrid schedule: 50% remote from anywhere in the country and 50% travel to supplier sites to evaluate and enhance their processes.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years as a Supplier Quality Engineer.
• Experience in manufacturing or as a floor Quality Engineer.
• Knowledge of auditing, problem solving, 8D, 5Why, PPAP, capability studies, APQP and containment.

• Focus on expediting products within the current supplier base and increasing quality.
• Observe, evaluate, and make suggestions on how to improve quality processes and manufacturability.
• Work with suppliers to increase efficiencies to meet company demands.
• Ensure suppliers adhere to company and automotive/IATF/VBA industry standards.
• Create supplier progress reports and develop problem‑solving plans for corrective actions.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer.
• Experience in manufacturing or as a floor Quality Engineer.
• Knowledge of quality engineering principles such as auditing, problem solving, corrective actions, 8D, 5Why, PPAP, capability studies, APQP, and containment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; candidates with applicable experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with suppliers.
• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is highly advantageous.

Work Environment

This position offers a flexible work environment, allowing you to work remotely 50% of the time from anywhere in the country. The remaining 50% involves traveling to supplier locations to evaluate and enhance their processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
