Job summary

Android Industries in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure on-time supplier delivery and to review supplier progress onsite, communicating issues to Purchasing and Engineering as required.

A BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related tooling/manufacturing experience) and 3+ years in SQE/SQA, Purchasing, or related fields are required. Candidate must know DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, analytics, and MS Office; will support audits, supplier improvement, and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related tooling/manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in Engineering, SQE/SQA, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Assembly Tooling, Machining role.

Responsibilities

• Delivery timing as established during the sourcing process and program requirements.
• Supplier issues resolution, communication to Android/Avancez stakeholders.
• Investigating, analyzing, and correcting problems in quality, production and control at a supplier location.
• Perform audits and implement new strategies.
• Supplier compliance to Android/Avancez SOR requirements/specifications.
• Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships.
• Understand and interpret all manufacturing audits, including ISO 9001 and other industry standards.
• Maintain a supplier database and include performance evaluations and quality control audits in the database for in-house access by company and manufacturing management personnel.
• Assist with logistics, including communications with vendors when there are packaging and receiving issues when materials arrive at receiving dock.
• All other duties as assigned.

SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring supplier delivery timing is achieved. This position will also perform onsite review of supplier progress and communicate supplier issues to Android/Avancez Purchasing and Engineering as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other with Tooling, Manufacturing experience.

3+ years’ experience working in Engineering, SQE/SQA, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Assembly Tooling, Machining role.

TRAVEL:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of DFMEA, DFM, PFMEA, Six Sigma.

Technical knowledge to discuss assembly process capabilities.

High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult.

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all team members – manufacturing, engineering, executive leadership, customers, suppliers, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, including Project.
