Job summary

FEMA Corporation is seeking a proactive Supplier Development Engineer to join the Quality team in Portage, MI. The role blends engineering with project and people management to ensure supplier quality and successful launches.

Travel is 10–30% domestically and internationally; reports to the Quality Manager. Normal hours are Mon–Fri, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with base pay of $75,000 per year according to the listing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• At least 1 year of professional experience; ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 preferred.
• ASQ CQE certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite supplier audits and risk assessments to qualify suppliers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align specs and validate processes.
• Oversee APQP process and review PPAP using PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA.
• Provide regular supplier performance reports to stakeholders.
• Support new product development through supplier readiness and capability.
• Drive cost and delivery improvement initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Quality engineer duties include solving production quality issues.
