Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a supplier administrator to oversee supplier activities, projects, and performance under general supervision.

The role includes evaluating supplier capabilities, monitoring metrics, and representing the department with internal groups. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and at least three years in supplier administration or purchasing, with strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive professional supplier administration or management experience.
  • Experience in supplier administration, supply chain, purchasing, or material management.

Responsibilities

  • Administers supplier activities, projects, programs and/or performance.
  • May recommend changes/updates to policies and procedures.
  • Develops and monitors supplier activities and performance metrics to ensure compliance with company processes and standards.
  • Performs site visits of suppliers to evaluate logistical capabilities and/or performance.
  • Represents the department as the primary contact with internal business groups.
  • May provide training and may make presentations as required.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With general supervision, this position is responsible for administering supplier activities, projects, programs and/or performance.
  • May recommend changes/updates to policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the development and monitoring of supplier activities and performance metrics to ensure company processes, procedures and standards are in compliance.
  • Performs site visits of suppliers to evaluate logistical capabilities and/or performance.
  • Represents the department as the primary contact with internal business groups.
  • May provide training and may make presentations as required.
  • This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related discipline and three or more years of progressive professional supplier administration or management experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Equivalent professional purchasing experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must have a general understanding of supplier administration, supply chain, purchasing, material management, production and/or material control practices, concepts, principles and regulations.
  • Must have experience demonstrating the application of those principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts and the ability to organize, schedule and coordinate work phases.
  • Must be able to determine and provide solutions to non-routine problems.
  • Must have good communication, computer, documentation, presentation and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and in a team, and be capable of representing the department as the prime contact.
  • Able to work extended hours and travel as required.
Job Type: Full-Time Salary
Salary range: 68,770 - 116,193
