Job summary

Position Title: Special Education Teacher: High School Supplemental Learning Support - 1 year assignment

Reports To: Building Principal

Purpose of Position

The Special Education Teacher for the High School Supplemental Learning Support classroom is responsible for delivering targeted academic instruction, functional life skill development, and post-secondary transition planning for students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will design and implement individualized programs aligned to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), foster self-advocacy and academic independence, and collaborate with general education staff, families, and community partners to prepare students for college, career, and independent living.

  • Ability to implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies as trained through the district-approved safety program.
  • Ability to lift, move, or assist with adaptive equipment, vocational tools, or physical supports as needed.
