Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled EEG Technician to perform EEG examinations under physician orders and supervision of the department manager.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred), Basic Life Support certification, and at least one year of related experience. You will work to ensure patient safety, accurate testing, and adherence to hospital policies in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receives and records physician’s orders for patient testing; schedules patients, obtains patient medical history and completes documentation.
• Prepares patients for procedures; explains procedure, measures electrode sites, applies electrodes and adjusts as appropriate.
• Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) examination; maintains equipment and makes minor adjustments.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications.
• Promotes professional growth by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and supporting department goals.
• Demonstrates commitment to compassionate and personalized experiences for patients and colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED, preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support certification.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

• Minimum one (1) year directly related experience.

Principal Accountabilities

• Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) examination; maintains equipment and makes minor adjustments as indicated.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
