SALARY: Minimum$30,660 - Maximum $44,260 Salary will be determined by using the Berkeley County Schools Service Personnel Salary Scale based on level of education and years of experience plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

SUMMARY:
Assist teachers in the classroom with daily instructional and non-instructional activities. Applicant's primary duties will be with ED students.
The successful applicant will provide support and assistance in the areas of behavior management, communication, daily living, self-help, academic, career/vocational and recreation/leisure skills. Toileting may be required.

an autism mentor or aide working with students with autism; or
an early childhood classroom assistant teacher, or
aide working with a student whose IEP requires one‑on‑one services.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). State mandated competency exam.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to staff, parents, students and administrators.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detail but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
