NASIC (National Air and Space Intelligence Center) seeks a seasoned security leader to plan, organize, and direct the Information Security and Operations Division. You will provide supervision, policy guidance, and risk-based decision making to protect critical information and assets.
The role requires deep knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and IC security programs, plus strong analytical and communication skills.
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the NASIC Information Security and Operations Division ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Provides direct management and oversight in the development of goals and objectives that integrate organization and division security objectives.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards.
As a NASIC Information and Operations Security expert, protects the Center from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to enterprise mission interests, national defense or national security. Develops/implements local security instructions and maintains all applicable DoD, AF, and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), regulations and instructions.
Makes Personnel security risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues that require deviations from or synthesis of policies that can have national implications. Applies innovative techniques as most risks cannot be pre-defined and remain broadly generic.
This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements describes in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: mastery knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security procedures for the organization; comprehensive knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and Intelligence Community (IC) missions, functions, goals and objectives; knowledge of safety regulations and security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans for a variety of specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies; mastery knowledge of agency, AF, DoD, and IC security program laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives to assist in operating an organization's security programs.
Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
