Geological Survey in Williamsport, PA seeks a Supervisory Hydrologic Technician within the Pennsylvania Water Science Center to supervise data collection, analysis, and reporting activities across surface, ground, and water-quality hydrology.

The role plans, designs, and schedules work, maintains cooperative relations with USGS programs and state/federal partners, and serves as the local expert on new hydrologic technologies, providing technical direction to staff.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, schedules, and supervises the activities of employees and student interns engaged in surface, ground, and water-quality hydrologic data collection, data management, and data reporting activities for the Williamsport Office of the Science Center.
• Promotes and maintains cooperative relations with USGS programs, and local, State, and other Federal agencies concerned with the development and operation of hydrologic networks.
• Serves as the local expert on new and innovative technologies in hydrologic data collection.
• Provides administrative and technical direction to the staff utilizing knowledge of pertinent Federal and Bureau personnel, EEO, safety, finance and procurement policies and procedures.

Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Hydrologic Technician with Geological Survey. This position serves in the Pennsylvania Water Science Center (PAWSC) in Williamsport, PA which supervises a group of employees conducting data collection, analysis, and publication in support of varying complexity throughout Pennsylvania and in support of USGS national programs. GS-12 Salary: Salary: $89,508 (Step 01) to $116,362 (Step 10)

Major Duties

As a Supervisory Hydrologic Technician within the Pennsylvania Water Science Center, some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Plans, designs, schedules, and supervises the activities of employees and student interns engaged in surface, ground, and water-quality hydrologic data collection, data management, and data reporting activities for the Williamsport Office of the Science Center.
