Job summary

• Interprets Accounts Maintenance and Control regulations, requirements, and policies, including changes, updates, and automated systems modifications, to ensure compliance.
• Trains and assists lower-level accounting technicians with techniques to correct and process accounting inputs.
• Ensures accuracy, propriety, and legality of accounting transactions through extensive review of documents.

Qualifications

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Processing and auditing complex pay transactions; reconciling pay system and financial system data; working with a variety of electronic systems to review and resolve pay transaction issues.
