Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Supervisor for the W Shift to lead daily warehouse operations and staffing. You will mentor staff, drive safety, and ensure policies are followed while supporting continuous improvement projects. This role requires strong communication, scheduling skills, and the ability to back up the manager as needed.

The candidate will oversee performance management, reward good work, and escalate issues promptly to maintain productivity and culture across the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations and staffing in assigned area.
  • Recruit, hire, promote, and terminate staff as needed.
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and share updates on culture, safety, production.
  • Set schedules and act as back-up for the Manager; payroll approvals in Kronos.
  • Identify process improvements and develop employees for growth.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and lead performance evaluations.
  • Recommend corrective actions including termination.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment and enforce safety protocols.

Job Description: Supervisor - W Shift (6:00a - 6:00p)

Your Role on Our Team

The Supervisor is responsible for one, or more, areas of distribution; knowing and implementing all policies and procedures, mentoring, and developing the staff, and ensuring all policies and procedures are met. This position will contribute to team efforts by participating in continuous improvement projects as required. You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Empowered Leader: Leads a team to effectively and efficiently manage the day to day operations and activities of facilities and programs in an assigned area. Solicits feedback from Team Leads and Associate Supervisor related to performance and takes corrective action when needed. Leads in the recruitment, hiring, promoting, and terminating processes as needed. Works with manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Sets schedules according to workload Serves as a back-up in the absence of the Manager.
  • Candid: Fosters a high degree of morale among associates, including providing feedback, recognition, and rewards Conducts or delegates or shift start-up meetings; communicates information related to culture, safety, production, accuracy, recognition, and facility/HR updates to keep team members informed Leads the performance review process and enters ratings in Workday.
  • Speed, Agility, Urgency: Provides timely, ongoing communication ensuring the appropriate dissemination of information to team leads and associates within the area Responsible for creating overall shift schedules and serving as back up for the Manager Final payroll approver in Kronos.
  • Always Improving: Identifies measures that can improve various warehouse processes without the additional financial burden Develops all employees to become a valuable part of the team to ensure their skills are at par with warehouse standards and regulations Responsible for identifying and growing future team leaders within Milwaukee Tool.
  • Provides formal and informal feedback: on an ongoing basis and leads the annual performance evaluation process to identify and develop talent.
  • Recommends employee corrective actions: including recommendations for termination.
  • Obsessed: Establishes operational strategy and related activities to facilitate consistent area goal achievement Maintains and enforces a clean and safe working environment Drives safety and culture and holds team members accountable for compliance including but not limited to adhering to safety incident reporting/protocols.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling of tools and boxes
  • Standing for long periods of time, as well as repetitive motion
  • Operate manual pallet jacks (Operation of other equipment is a plus!)
  • Able to work in various temperature conditions
  • Able to lift and/or move objects up to 70lb
