Job summary

Cox Automotive, a leader in vehicle remarketing, seeks a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor in the USA to oversee daily shop operations and lead the Auto Maintenance team. The role requires guiding technicians, ensuring safety, and meeting service standards to keep vehicles in top condition.

You will manage workflows, coordinate with vendors, and mentor staff while maintaining accurate records and billing practices.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle maintenance or related fields.
• Safe drivers with valid license required.
• ASE certifications in automotive repair preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction to Auto Maintenance team and vendors.
• Supervise Technicians: assign duties, ensure quality and policy compliance.
• Ensure service/repair work meets company standards and safety.
• Purchase equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Complete work orders for accurate vehicle records.
• Review bills and invoices with Accounting.
• Monitor workloads to ensure efficiency and customer service.
• Keep shop clean and organized.
• Enforce policies for employee and customer conduct.
• Demonstrate safety commitment and correct behavior.
• Conduct spot checks for quality and thoroughness.
• Mentor and train Technicians for growth.

Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $73,800.00 - $110,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

What You’ll Do

• Provides day-to-day direction and guidance to Auto Maintenance team members and allied vendors/service providers.
• Supervises and directs the work of assigned Technicians by determining work procedures, expediting workflow, assigning duties, and examining work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Ensures the full range of service/repair work is performed according to company standards, applicable regulations, and customer expectations; work includes Oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush, Vehicle inspection - for safety, operational effectiveness, and minor deficiencies, Various repairs and maintenance, including onboard diagnostics systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, interior/exterior components, engine and drive line components, etc.
• Purchases equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Supervises the completion of work order forms to ensure accurate vehicle records.
• Approves and forwards bills and invoices to Accounting.
• Reviews work volumes, planning and monitoring staff levels to ensure efficiency, quality and effective customer service.
• Ensures shop and work areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Enforces company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
• Visibly demonstrates a commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the right behaviors.
• Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Mentors and teaches Technicians to ensure the overall growth of the team.

• HS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience in a related field (vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience); or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Preferred: ASE certifications in automotive repair.
