Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI, is seeking a Core Components Supervisor within the global thermal systems core engineering team.   • Lead cross-carline warranty issue resolutions and TVM actions.

In this position...Core components supervisor within the global thermal systems core engineering team. Responsible for climate and/or cooling components to support existing internal combustion vehicles and next generation electric vehicles.

What you'll do
  • Lead global core engineering team responsible for climate and/or cooling components (compressors, heat pump modules, HV heaters, a/c lines, pumps, valves, fan, sensors).
  • Author Engineering specifications and foundation documents (DFMEA, DVP, ESOW etc.) for above components for all Ford global programs..
  • Lead in creating sourcing quote package and technical assessment of suppliers for new technology components including qualification of local suppliers for global supplier localization efforts.
  • Lead implementation of new suppliers and technologies using the Ford GTDS process with efficient program management techniques.
  • Create, update and monitor modular catalog of parts for vehicle usage.
  • Support Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) with technical experts, Software reviews, NetCom diagnostics, EMC reviews and represent thermal systems component team in safety related activities.
  • Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks during new supplier implementation.
  • Review and approve DV (Design Verification) and PV (Product Validation) plans and develop commodity business plans.
  • Lead component tech clubs and core process development to facilitate improved program delivery
  • Capture lessons learned/Prevent Recurrence and develop updated test plans, requirements and specifications.
  • Hands on troubleshooting of component and related sub-system and vehicle issues.
  • Support resolution of manufacturing issues.
  • Manage thermal system SREA approvals.
  • Manage OK-to-Use tools.
  • Lead resolution of cross carline warranty issues.
  • Support implementation of cross carline TVM actions.
You'll have

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related degree. 10 years of automotive industry experience. 5+ years of experience with automotive thermal System components/subsystem design or related experience. 5+ years of supervisory experience.

Even better, you may have
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related degree.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the following: worst case circuit analysis (WCCA), authoring engineering specifications, foundation documents (DFMEA, DVP, SCCAF), software reviews, EMC, NetCom, LIN, automotive safety.
  • Design and Release experience and vehicle launch experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with supplier plants.
  • Experience in collaborating with supply chain to create commodity business plans and develop supply risk mitigation actions.
  • CAE/CFD knowledge/experience a plus.
  • Project Management knowledge in planning and executing projects, agile methodology and risk management.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing technologies related to thermal system components.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter, TcVis Mockup and ability to move, align, modify and freeze components and assemblies.
  • Familiarity with AI tools.
  • Proven ability to participate effectively and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in non-structured environment where creativity and a start-up mentality is encouraged.
  • Motivation to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and effectively communicate to management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively represent the company and interact with suppliers.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
