Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Ocala, FL to oversee drivers and ensure safe, on-time deliveries. You will manage routing, monitor DOT compliance, and coordinate with distribution teams. A strong emphasis on teamwork, organization, and problem solving is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of transportation management experience in food distribution.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations essential.
• AS/400 experience preferred; familiarity with routing software beneficial.
• Ability to read/write English to perform tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries with routing and dispatch know-how.
• Review driver logs and hours of service to ensure DOT and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with other distribution center departments for timely deliveries.
• Perform additional duties and take on special projects as assigned.

The Transportation Supervisor provides direct supervision for a group of assigned Drivers.

What you'll do as a Transportation Supervisor:

• Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers via a thorough working knowledge of multi-stop routing systems and dispatch procedures.
• Review driver logs, hours of service, and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.
• Coordinate activities with other distribution center departments to ensure that accurate and timely deliveries occur.
• This position has additional duties. Special projects may be assigned at the position supervisor's discretion.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Transportation Supervisor:

• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Have at least 1 year of transportation management experience in the food distribution industry.
• Be knowledgeable about DOT regulations.
• AS/400 experience is preferred.
• Truck routing software experience preferred.
• Be able to work a varied and flexible schedule.
• Have basic competency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
