Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. in Northfield, MN is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee a group of drivers, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries and DOT compliance. The role requires coordinating with multiple teams to maintain efficient routing and dispatch operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of transportation management experience in food distribution.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• AS/400 experience preferred.
• Truck routing software experience preferred.
• Able to work a varied and flexible schedule.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• English reading/writing ability required for safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries using routing and dispatch procedures.
• Review driver logs and hours of service to ensure DOT compliance.
• Coordinate with distribution center departments for timely deliveries.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.

The Transportation Supervisor provides direct supervision for a group of assigned Drivers.

Benefits you can count on:

• Pay rate: $65,000 to $75,000 per year DOE. Up to 10% potential bonus.

Monday to Friday 8:00pm start.

Position is based out of Northfield, MN location.

What you’ll do as a Transportation Supervisor:

• Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers via a thorough working knowledge of multi-stop routing systems and dispatch procedures.
• Review driver logs, hours of service, and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.
• Coordinate activities with other distribution center departments to ensure that accurate and timely deliveries occur.
• This position has additional duties. Special projects may be assigned at the position supervisor's discretion.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Transportation Supervisor:

• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Have at least 1 year of transportation management experience in the food distribution industry.
• Be knowledgeable about DOT regulations.
• AS/400 experience is preferred.
• Truck routing software experience preferred.
• Be able to work a varied and flexible schedule.
• Have basic competency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
