Job summary

Supervisor Supply Chain
SUMMARY:

Supervises employees providing supply and equipment inventory control. Provides day‑to‑day oversight of operations, personnel and provides daily work guidance and on-the-job training for other technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs supervisory functions; prepares work schedules, assigns staff, observes performance to provide input to formal evaluations, and makes recommendations for personnel actions; assists in staff selection and provides training and orientation for employees.

Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Monitors and controls expenses within approved budget allocations.

Creates policies and procedures for inventory control and issuance of supplies and equipment.

Oversight of case carts for the operating room, as assigned.

Analyzes daily operations and implements needed changes.

Directs the requisitioning, sorting, labeling and issuing of supplies to meet area needs.

Coordinates and maintains an adequate level of supplies to meet area needs.

Conducts regular physical inventory surveys with consistency.

Maintains the databases for inventory using computer programs.

Maintains inventory records and submits requisitions.

Creates purchase orders for needed supplies and consignment replacement products.

Conduct daily shift report for employees.

Adheres to and supports team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.

Adheres to TMC organizational and department‑specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.

Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of stores inventory experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of stores maintenance, inventory control and purchasing best practices.
  • Skill in training and leading staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
