Job summary

This role requires CRCST certification, 15+ months in sterile processing and at least 1 year of supervisory experience, with proficiency in Word and Excel. 40 hours weekly, evenings, Rochester NY.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required for Sterile Processing.
• Minimum 15 months of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Sterile Processing to ensure timely decontamination, sterilization, assembly, storage and distribution.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, hospital and infection prevention standards.
• Monitor workflow and implement process improvements to support surgical services.
• Coordinate instrument and equipment readiness, repairs, replacements and inventory management.
• Provide day-to-day leadership including scheduling, coaching, training and recruitment assistance.
• Foster collaboration with OR staff, Nursing, Infection Prevention, Engineering and Environmental Services.
• Support quality assurance and patient safety by maintaining sterile processing records and metrics.

Responsibilities include planning, organizing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of SPC, the care, preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies. Serves as a key contact and resource for Operating Room questions and issues. Ensures adherence to The Joint Commission (TJC) and State Board of Health regulations.
