Job summary

TriHealth's Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Supervisor of Sterile Processing to lead the CSP team, oversee instrument sterilization, and ensure readiness for surgical procedures.

You will manage daily CSP operations, enforce standards, train staff, and collaborate with perioperative services to sustain quality and safety while supporting staff development and work‑life balance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree is required.
2–3 years experience in Progressive Leadership.
Operating Room Experience (RN, Surgical Technician, Surgical Assistant/First Assistant) preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the CSP department and oversee instrument sterilization readiness.
Coordinate hospital-wide Central Sterile Service Department activities.
Ensure sterility of processed items and monitor sterilization practices.
Establish training and educational offerings for CSP staff and leads.
Report incidents to the Director of perioperative Services and follow safety protocols.
Maintain and update policies to current standards.

Job Overview

Under the direction of the department manager/director, the supervisor has responsibility to supervise daily operations of the department or area, overseeing operations or patient care outcomes as applicable, service excellence, human resource issues, fiscal management, quality improvement compliance, and communication. Emphasis should be placed on creating a positive environment that fosters professional growth and retention.

Job Responsibilities

Serves as a resource for equipment and instrumentation; assists in maintaining a master equipment and instrument list, identifying equipment needs for varied patient populations, and ensuring equipment is in proper working order.
Coordinating hospital-wide Central Sterile Service Department activities to provide services as assigned.
Ensures sterility of processed items, monitoring sterilization practices, assisting in policy formation, and enforcing regulatory and professional standards. Assists in monitoring and reporting procedures.
Establishes and conducts training and educational offerings to CSP tech and leads.
Reports all unique incidents to the Director of perioperative Services and through Quantro's safety system.
Ensures policies are adhered to and assists in keeping policies updated to reflect current standards.
