Job summary

ASRC Agile Decision Sciences in Moorestown, NJ seeks an Engineering Supervisor to lead a group of agile engineering teams on the SSDS Combat Weapons program. You will collaborate with the Sr.

Engineering Manager to plan staffing, manage finances, and drive technical issue resolution. Requirements include a Bachelor's in engineering/CS or related field, 2-4 years in leadership of software teams, Agile experience, and the ability to obtain a government secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field is required or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
• 2-4 years' experience in leadership or management of software development, maintenance, or large-scale programs.
• Experience developing software with Agile methodologies.
• Academic or professional experience with Engineering Management.
• Understanding of EVMS concepts.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with process metrics and Process Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vision of the Sr. Engineering Manager and guide agile teams to deliver.
• Plan and control functional teams and project finances through negotiations with PMs and managers.
• Write reports detailing variances from the performance measurement baseline.
• Develop corrective action plans to overcome challenges.
• Support risk and opportunity management for scoped tasks and mitigation steps.
• Communicate objectives and expectations clearly to staff; ensure SOW compliance.
• Present formal updates to customer and internal management.
• Coordinate staffing with the Sr. Engineering Manager and define priorities and funding.

ASRC Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our SSDS Combat Weapons team. This individual should have engineering experience to collaborate and help lead a group of high performing agile engineering teams. This is a full-time position located in Moorestown, NJ.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and management responsibilities include:

• Carrying out the vision of the Sr. Engineering Manager

• Plan and control functional teams and project finances through negotiation with project managers, business managers and functional managers

• Assimilating management information to write reports detailing variances from the performance measurement baseline

• Developing specific, actionable corrective action plans to overcome challenges

• Support risk and opportunity management on scoped tasks and provide inputs, including mitigation steps to the program and risk manager

• Effectively communicating operating philosophy, objectives, and expectations to staff

• Ensuring compliance with the terms of the customer statement of work (SOW)

• Developing/presenting formal presentations for the customer and internal management

• Able to work with engineering team in helping to define and root cause technical issues

• Assignment of work tasks, timecard approvals, providing performance reviews, career planning, and training development required for direct reports

• Conduct staffing and manpower planning to support current and anticipated projects, including interviewing and hiring personnel as required

• Coordinate staffing requirements with Sr. Engineering Manager

• Define, communicate, and coordinate staffing priorities as well as funding requirements with the appropriate project leads

• Update agile user story statuses in Jira and engineering artifacts in Confluence

• Work to development and monitor measurable process and development activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field) or equivalent related work experience

• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance, US Citizenship is required.

• This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s).

• 2-4 years' experience in leadership role or management of software development, maintenance, or support of large-scale software programs

• Experience developing software with Agile principles

• Academic or professional experience with Engineering Management

• Understanding of EVMS concepts

• Familiarity with Jira

• Familiarity of process and software metrics

• Familiarity Process Analytics
