Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, a 357-bed Level II Trauma Center in Valencia, CA, seeks a Supervisor for Medical Social Services to oversee 24-hour social work operations in the acute hospital and ER. Requires LCSW, Master’s in Social Work, and 3 years’ acute care experience with crisis intervention; BLS and MAB are preferred.

In collaboration with the Director, the Supervisor for Medical Social Services is accountable for the 24-hour management of social services, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, unit strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected unit of responsibility and the organization as a whole. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing all medical social service functions for the acute hospital and emergency room. Performs psychosocial services including: assessment, crisis intervention, utilization review, care coordination and abuse reporting. May lead process and education groups. Provides clinical support to other staff as needed. Reports to the Manager of Care Management in the absence of the Director.
