Job summary

Novva Data Centers seeks a seasoned Supervisor - Site Operations to oversee 24/7 data center command center activities, security protocols, and incident response. You will lead a team of technicians, coordinate onboarding, monitor critical metrics, and collaborate across engineering, facilities, and customer-facing teams.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, cross-functional communication, and adherence to industry standards (Uptime Institute, ANSI/TIA, ISO 27001) with a focus on reliability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Proven leadership and supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ANSI/TIA-942, and ISO 27001.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, A+, Sec+ are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train operations personnel on incident response, security procedures, and customer awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, protocols, and regulations related to data center operations.
  • Implement and maintain strict security protocols to safeguard data center facilities and equipment.
  • Lead and manage a team of technicians and operators responsible for maintaining a smooth flow of operations.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Schedule and allocate tasks effectively to ensure 24/7 coverage and response to emergencies.
  • Work closely and effectively across departments — including engineering, security, facilities, and customer-facing teams — to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact between site operations and other business units, building strong working relationships that support shared goals.
  • Use existing tools to monitor data center metrics such as power, cooling, uptime, security, etc.
  • Identify areas for optimization and efficiency improvement and recommend necessary changes to enhance overall performance.
  • Coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center equipment such as cabinets, containment, and conveyance systems.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure timely acquisition of necessary equipment.
  • Track deliverables as they relate to customer expectations and oversee implementation efforts.
  • Lead incident response efforts during outages or failures, assisting technical teams to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive procedures to minimize downtime, ensure security, and support timely issue resolution.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor - Site Operations with a strong emphasis on data center command center operations and security. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high customer satisfaction, optimal response times, efficiency, and reliability. This role requires an understanding of customer onboarding procedures, project management and oversight, data center infrastructure, and industry best practices. We are seeking someone who also has good computing, networking, Audio-Visual, and low‑voltage skills.

Schedule Requirements

This role requires the flexibility to work after hours, on holidays, and on weekends as needed to support 24/7 data center operations, including responding to emergencies or critical incidents outside standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities
Data Center Management
  • Supervise and train operations personnel on incident response, security procedures, and customer awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, protocols, and regulations related to data center operations.
  • Implement and maintain strict security protocols to safeguard data center facilities and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field – Desired.
  • Proven experience with leadership and supervision.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute's Tier Standards, ANSI/TIA-942, and ISO 27001.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards; experience leading safety programs or serving as a safety point of contact is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in high‑pressure situations.
  • Exceptional communication skills for coordinating with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and upper management.
  • Strong interpersonal and in‑person communication skills, with a positive, professional demeanor when engaging with customers, visitors, and team members on‑site.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as operational needs require.
  • Relevant certifications such as DCCA, CDCP, CDCS, CCNA, A+, Sec+, Net+, or equivalent are highly desirable.
