Qualifications

Job Description

Oversees the Quality Coordinators, including assignments, scheduling, and performance reviews. Assesses collected data to identify areas needing improvement, assists in developing corrective action plans, and monitors results. Ensures accurate abstraction of focus metrics and core measure data through validation of concurrent and closed record reviews, and direct observation. Collaborates with hospital and medical staff leadership to identify needs affecting the Quality Management System. Oversees the implementation of corrective actions and evaluates their effectiveness and sustainability, ensuring closure within defined timeframes. Participates in departmental and organizational meetings for survey readiness. Prepares departmental reports, studies, and audits as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Provides feedback regarding data collected and outcomes to hospital leadership, medical staff, and others as applicable.

Maintains up-to-date, accurate documentation of QM Department tasks and projects to ensure integration of information for quality care and improved patient outcomes/safety.

Develops, coordinates, implements, maintains, and oversees the quality metric education program for Quality Coordinators and other staff by disseminating knowledge of quality assurance best practices.

Oversees the dissemination of QM Program additions/updates to hospital staff and physicians in conjunction with department leaders and the staff development department.

Ensures documentation meets standards for reimbursement in relation to Leapfrog, CMS guidelines, and the Value-Based Purchasing Program.

  • Ability to work and perform duties with minimum amount of supervision. [Required]
  • Accountable for the appropriate utilization of supplies and equipment. [Required]

  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Regulatory requirements in quality assessment performance improvement, resource management, hospital systems, accreditation, and licensure [Preferred]

Work Experience

Licenses and Certifications
