AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS, is seeking a Supervisor Respiratory Care Nights to lead the team on a 36-hour night schedule, with every other weekend and holiday rotation. A $10K sign-on bonus is offered. Requires 3+ years critical care experience, NBRC RRT credential, and BLS.

Associate degree in respiratory therapy; Bachelor’s preferred. Responsibilities include staffing planning, interdepartmental liaison, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient use of resources and labor by reviewing scheduling and staffing needs.
• Acts as a liaison between staff and department leadership, communicating important issues to leadership promptly.
• Maintains good working relationships with all customers and communicates effectively with other healthcare team members.
• Demonstrates leadership, communication, initiative, professional growth, poise, and self-control.
• Assists with clinical duties when needed and maintains all required clinical competencies.
• Follows standard precautions and safety regulations per hospital policies.
• Participates in new leader orientation and leadership development activities.
• Ensures adherence to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all regulations.
• Monitors staff activities to ensure services align with policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates professional standards, dignity, confidentiality, and respect for patients and staff.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and conducts timely performance appraisals.

• Serves as a role model by demonstrating leadership, communication, initiative, personal and professional growth, poise, and self-control.
• Acts as a resource person and assists with clinical duties when needed, maintaining all required clinical competencies.
• Practices and enforces standard precautions and safety regulations according to hospital policies.
• Attends new leader orientation and ongoing management/leadership classes.
• Adheres to, and ensures staff adherence to, the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Monitors staff activities in the clinical setting to ensure services are provided according to department and facility policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates professional standards and ethics, showing regard for the dignity, confidentiality, and respect of all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital personnel.
• Participates in and proactively initiates performance improvement activities.
• Completes performance appraisals on time, counsels staff, and initiates progressive discipline as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge and appropriate implementation of applicable regulatory and professional standards [Required]

• Develop and implement educational processes for all team members and able to function as manager in the absence of the manager [Required]
• Critical thinking and patient assessment skills with the ability to evaluate and modify treatment plans utilizing respiratory therapy driven protocols [Required]
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]

Field of Study:

• in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science

Work Experience:

• 3+ years critical care experience [Required]
